The Gasifier-Powered Cafe Racer: The Car of Yesteryear . . . Today!

Chicken John converted his 1975 pickup truck to run on coffee grounds or walnut
shells or pretty much any other trash you can burn. And not only does it run on
trash, but it's a carbon-negative vehicle. Seriously. The truck itself is
completely unmodified. Chicken just added a gasifier to it. It can run on gasoline with the flip of a
switch. Gasification isn't some new-fangled technology. In Europe during World
War II, over a million vehicles ran using wood burning gasifiers when gasoline
and diesel were unavailable. The Cafe Racer: the car of yesteryear . . .
today! How does it work? Watch the video . . . "at

Gas-of-Fire 1000 Update #1: The cyclone filter did not turn out the way I had planned. All I'll say is that when one plans on welding an old pot to the bottom of the cyclone filter (in order to provide room for the ash) make sure the pot is not an aluminum pot! The Making of A Woodgas Generator

Paul Halvorson, January 17, 2008

I'm a logger in a small community North of Whistler BC,Canada and last year at this time began construction of a Mother Earth News gasifier to run a 1979 F100.

I have put a few You Tube videos out under the name "oldplaner" in hope to inspire or help others like me that want to get started in woodgas but don't know where to start.

This gasifier is the very same that Jeff Davis built and drove back in the early 1980's.

Best regards

Paul Halvorson

Cow Manure Densification And Gasification- Converting Cow Manure Into Energy -2

AES in partnership with Renew Energy Systems has developed a
range of proven technology solutions that allow ranchers and dairies to
convert their manure into renewable energy. This video segment offers a
glimpse into the developmental process that has led up to these cost
saving programs. Not to be confused with Anaerobic Digestion, AES
utilizes Vertically Integrated Gasification with Combustion to directly convert the manures into energy for
heating, cooling and/or electricity. AES & RES demonstrate in this
video how cow manure can be densified, aka "briquetted" in order to add
fuel value and to reduce the difficulty of managing the manure.
