Gas-of-Fire 1000 Update #1

The cyclone filter did not turn out the way I had planned. All I'll say is that when one plans on welding an old pot to the bottom of the cyclone filter (in order to provide room for the ash) make sure the pot is not an aluminum pot! You can see the test setup in picture 4.

Switchgrass Fireball Slag

This is an interesting ash/slag switchgrass fireball. The outside is hardened by becoming slagged. Not all swichgrass fireballs turned to slag. As a matter of fact I think most of my slag came from tests that over heated the gasifier. Simply need more testing. files/images/fbslag_0.jpeg

Fireball Flame 1

Because of the high temperature it was difficult to take a picture of this flame. The black arrow points to the pipe and you can see how the flame was starting to pull away from the pipe/burner. It looked like water going down a sink drain just before the flame raced down the pipe.
