Aruna Gasifier
Engine Genset
We are a fast
growing medium scale engineering company catering to the needs of the Power
Industries of both thermal and hydro power. We are in the field of Renovation
& Modernization of Hydro / Turbo Generators for the past four decades having
good clientele support from the nation’s power giants like BHEL, NLC, NTPC,
KEB, KPTCL, TNEB, KSEB, APGEN etc.
In addition to this, we are expanding our activities
into the bio energy sector by promoting the usage of non conventional energy
sources. We are convinced ourselves that
this could be the only solution to safeguard our nation’s environment, economy
and also face the consequences of the depleting crude oil deposits. To realise this dream and give practical
dimensions to our endeavor, we had enter into agreement with a premier R&D
Institute for technology transfer to design & fabricate biomass
gasifiers. Based on this agreement, we
undertake turnkey biomass gasifer projects for power generation and thermal
applications.
We are
extremely thankful to you for the interest shown in our biomass gasifier based
power project. This technology of
‘Future’, finds wide acceptance from small, medium and large industrial sectors
by its uniqueness of lowest cost of production, simplicity in operation, absolutely
free from air and water pollution.

Gasification of bamboo for electricity
Government of India, Ministry of Science and Technology, DEPARTMENT OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (DST) 2007
NMBA, National Mission on Bamboo Applications http://www.bambootech.org
DST/ NMBA has approved the establishment of a 25 Kwe fabricated
gasifier with producer gas engine at Namsai, Lohit district.
DST/ NMBA has approved the establishment of a 25 Kwe (35 kg/
hour) gasifier to provide electricity for a residential educational
establishment (Central Institute of Himalayan Culture Studies,
Dahung) in Arunachal Pradesh.
DST/ NMBA will support, for off-grid and remote villages,
a programme of induction of 6 bamboo gasifiers in 2007 (in
the 25 Kwe - 75 Kwe range), to provide electricity to villages,
or to institutions (residential schools, health sub-centres,
small enterprises).

Carbo Consult & Engineering (Pty) Ltd, System Johansson Gas Producers, South Africa
Gero Eckermann, November 10, 2006
My partner Guenther Freudendahl and I are delighted about Paul Anderson's kind reference to Gus Johansson, our friend and mentor, who passed away at the age of nearly 84 on 09 March 2005.
Gus retired from his co-founder position of one of South Africa’s major civil engineering companies in 1984. To realize his dream of many decades and keep his gray matter active, he devoted all his time to invent a TAR FREE Gasifier, based on the 2nd world war Imbert down draft method. The result came swiftly: in the System Johansson, tar is cracked at ±1,500ºC --- a breakthrough of extraordinary proportions.

Açai Brazil:Biomass Gasification Partnership for Rural Electrification in Brazil
Tom Reed, Biomass Energy Foundation, February 27, 2007
The Biomass Energy Foundation has partnered with Brazil’s Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM) to bring biomass-generated electricity to the Amazon region.
The “Biomass Gasification Partnership for Rural Electrification in Brazil” will use açaí pits, currently a waste product from processing fruit pulp, to generate 80 kW of electricity to serve four communities in the municipality of Manacapuru, approximately 90 km southwest of the state capital Manaus. The bioenergy plant will be co-located with a new açaí processing facility that will allow villagers to generate income and improve their standard of living. Currently, the villagers collect the fruit but have no means to process it into pulp, so they must sell it to a middleman at a low commodity prices. A new school has already been constructed as part of the project.
BEF’s system will consist of two 40 kW gensets fueled by two air-blown downdraft gasifiers complete with gas cleaning and cooling systems and semi-automated system controls. System installation is scheduled for the summer of 2006.
The project has principle funding from Brazil’s Federal Ministry of Mines and Energy as a pilot facility under Brazil’s “Lights for All” universal electrification program. The International Utility Energy Partnership has also awarded BEF a small grant to monitor the greenhouse gas benefits associated with using biomass energy rather than distributed diesel generation, the current modus operandi, to serve isolated communities in Brazil.
