Weiss from Denmark has a commercial scale CHP plant in Copenhagen, Denmark in operation producing 500 KWe and 1000 MW thermal energy that they are adding to the district heating loop.

Meva Innovation AB has been working on a new VIPP (Vortex Intensive Power Process) cyclone gasifier and gas cleaner. They have had a 500kw CHP Pilot plant operating since 2009, and are building a small CHP plant for a district heating (utility) which will be commissioned in September.

Good, old Gasification meets High-Tech Fuel Cells

Hello everybody,

    I learned from Johannes about this forum. Just like Johannes, I did a PhD at Paul Scherrer Institut and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich in the field of Biomass Gasification. I wish I had known this forum back then because one of the goals of my thesis was to come up with a fixed bed gasifier in the 5 to 30 kWth scale which would operate at least one week non-stop. Fortunately, I did succeed in the end as you can read in my thesis.

      Cherry trees utilized for alternative energy project

      Fueled by gasified wood chips from a nearby forest, Japan's largest wood gas-to-energy plant, powered by two of GE Energy's Jenbacher gas engines, has successfully started operation in the Yamagata Prefecture, generating 2MW of electricity for local power purposes.
